Some items such as scenery materials are unique to the hobby.  They cover a broad spectrum of color and texture imitating soil, grass, trees and other materials that make up our real world.  There is a huge selection of basic scenery material but you only need a little to get started.  Just pick a few colors that you would see in nature.
